00:03:04.823 --> 00:03:05.704
Oh man, Pleasure being here.

00:03:05.704 --> 00:03:08.990
Love your stuff, man, Great stuff oh thanks, I appreciate that.

00:03:09.730 --> 00:03:18.492
All right, so before we go anywhere else, I want to ask you a very semi-serious question.

00:03:18.492 --> 00:03:20.199
Okay, you ready, I'm ready.

00:03:22.528 --> 00:03:23.532
All right, here we go.

00:03:23.532 --> 00:03:24.417
Are you a school believer?

00:03:24.417 --> 00:03:27.461
Who is it Heck?

00:03:27.480 --> 00:03:28.362
yeah, I'm a school believer.

00:03:28.362 --> 00:03:29.145
Right, you got the uh t-shirt, man.

00:03:29.245 --> 00:03:30.987
You know, you got a t-shirt, I got one before you.

00:03:30.987 --> 00:03:32.731
It sounds like, yeah, I have to.

00:03:32.731 --> 00:03:33.901
I have to hook you up, man.

00:03:33.901 --> 00:03:35.346
I make school believers t-shirts.

00:03:35.346 --> 00:03:36.048
Man, that's what I do.

00:03:36.048 --> 00:03:39.900
Nice, appreciate that nice you both all right.

00:03:39.961 --> 00:03:47.611
So, michael, do me a favor here and let's, in the beginning, let's just kind of get a little idea who you are and how you got across the start line in your entrepreneur adventure.

00:03:49.820 --> 00:03:53.311
I wish that was a straight line Scoob, but I'll try to keep it concise here.

00:03:53.311 --> 00:03:58.860
So I've basically been the Rocky Balboa business my whole life, or life in general.

00:03:58.860 --> 00:04:02.431
Just get beat up so bad that life sometimes says, hey, just give him something.

00:04:02.431 --> 00:04:11.508
I think a lot of folks since there's new entrepreneurs that listen to this can really relate to that.

00:04:11.508 --> 00:04:12.512
But I grew up just a little backstory.

00:04:12.512 --> 00:04:13.133
I grew up just really poor.

00:04:13.133 --> 00:04:15.421
I bounced around from the city to country areas and I was all passionate.

00:04:15.442 --> 00:04:17.406
No clue, didn't really fit in as a kid.

00:04:17.406 --> 00:04:24.447
I went to college, got two college degrees, overly educated, pink neck, so to speak, and I was just chasing anything I could, but I didn't.

00:04:24.447 --> 00:04:26.149
I just didn't have the guidance.

00:04:26.149 --> 00:04:38.910
Nobody in my family was an entrepreneur, nobody really did much in there as far as higher education, and so I just kind of bought into that American dream get a good job right, be happy, go to work, go to church kind of stuff.

00:04:38.910 --> 00:04:43.612
And deep down inside of me I tried to suppress it, but I couldn't.

00:04:43.612 --> 00:04:50.302
Deep down inside there was something that just wanted to be somebody and do something special and I just kept telling it to be quiet, but it just wouldn't.

00:04:50.302 --> 00:04:54.112
And so really everything come to fruition around COVID, right?

00:04:54.112 --> 00:05:14.172
Everybody's got that pivotal COVID story, scoob and that story right there, man, that launched me into a whole new realm that I've actually wrote in a book about, about how I became the unexpected leader of the hounds of business community and did what I would never believe I'd do, which is teach marketing, sales and consumer psychology, centered around social media and LinkedIn.

00:05:14.172 --> 00:05:18.211
So maybe that's the story you want, because I don't want to go all the way back to second grade.

00:05:18.211 --> 00:05:25.266
But, yeah, it was unexpected leadership and, honestly, if you want me to get into the story, I can give you the mini version.

00:05:25.305 --> 00:05:27.889
It's funny, but I had to find it.

00:05:27.889 --> 00:05:29.112
I had to find my way.

00:05:29.112 --> 00:05:32.362
I think that's where a lot of entrepreneurs go wrong.

00:05:32.362 --> 00:05:40.646
Right, you learn the technical skills, you learn stuff, you need that but you have to do like Elvis said do it your way, right, and I think that's where people screw up.

00:05:40.646 --> 00:05:41.747
It's like learning the cha-cha.

00:05:41.747 --> 00:05:47.535
If I learned the cha-cha my country self did that it would be funny, right, I would be stepping on toes, counting steps.

00:05:47.535 --> 00:05:48.435
Women would giggle.

00:05:48.435 --> 00:05:56.442
But once I got the technical down, then I put my own voice, my own flavor, my own style into it, and I think that's where people kind of get lost.

00:05:56.442 --> 00:05:58.805
They just I did the sales pitch but it didn't work.

00:05:58.805 --> 00:05:59.788
Yeah, because it's not you.

00:05:59.788 --> 00:06:00.908
You're completely.

00:06:00.908 --> 00:06:04.774
You Scoop right, you do your Scooby impression and all that good stuff.

00:06:04.774 --> 00:06:05.754
You don't care.

00:06:05.754 --> 00:06:13.598
And I think there's a lot to be said for the mental game before you go working on your marketing game.

00:06:14.540 --> 00:06:15.000
Yeah, that is so, so true.

00:06:15.000 --> 00:06:17.870
We really have to be able to work on ourselves before we can get anywhere else.

00:06:17.870 --> 00:06:22.192
If we're not good with ourselves, then how are we going to be good for other people?

00:06:22.192 --> 00:06:24.622
So I'm really interested.

00:06:24.622 --> 00:06:27.709
You're saying you're the unexpected leader of the hound dogs.

00:06:27.709 --> 00:06:29.954
How do you become an unexpected leader?

00:06:32.754 --> 00:06:33.439
That's very interesting.

00:06:33.439 --> 00:06:36.569
Yeah, let me tell that story because I tell it all the time on the group calls and it's never a script.

00:06:36.569 --> 00:06:39.384
This is the most realest thing ever because I think people can relate.

00:06:39.384 --> 00:06:41.423
I know people can relate to it because they're in the hounds.

00:06:41.423 --> 00:06:49.473
So right after COVID, I was in finance I'm actually the redneck financial coach but I never talk about money or finance and people ask me why don't you talk about it?

00:06:49.473 --> 00:06:55.199
And the easy answer is nobody wanted to hear about it, right?

00:06:55.199 --> 00:06:55.961
Especially on LinkedIn.

00:06:55.961 --> 00:06:57.163
They're all trying to sell their stuff and be seen.

00:06:57.163 --> 00:06:57.843
So what happened was is right.

00:06:57.863 --> 00:07:00.788
When COVID hit, I was getting a little bit of my stride.

00:07:00.788 --> 00:07:11.012
So instead of being told no a thousand times, I was getting told no 998 times, and I had started a business to help support the back office of other financial vice presidents.

00:07:11.012 --> 00:07:12.923
So I was starting to gain traction.

00:07:12.923 --> 00:07:15.730
I finally as poor as dirt my whole life.

00:07:15.730 --> 00:07:19.834
I finally made six figures and COVID hit and I just started losing heart.

00:07:19.834 --> 00:07:21.540
So I did the worst thing you could do.

00:07:21.540 --> 00:07:22.923
I was 38 at the time.

00:07:22.923 --> 00:07:32.473
I hated social media, so I went on mostly LinkedIn and pitch slapped with a P, pitch slapped and spammed people for two years, and that explains my receding hairline right.

00:07:32.473 --> 00:07:41.464
The other side is my kids, but this one fell out because I didn't know what else to do, and it was a real hard thing to go out there and think that people didn't like me.

00:07:41.464 --> 00:07:44.791
That's what I thought hey, they don't like me, they don't like your business, you suck.

00:07:44.791 --> 00:07:46.014
And so that was real hard.

00:07:46.014 --> 00:07:50.826
So what happened was I almost spent my last four grand on a LinkedIn marketing course.

00:07:50.826 --> 00:07:52.250
Thank goodness I didn't.

00:07:52.250 --> 00:07:59.620
And what happened was I met this crazy cage fighter from Chicago and he was an influencer, but he was a different style of him.

00:07:59.620 --> 00:08:03.206
He talked about no like and trust the stuff I did in person before COVID.

00:08:03.206 --> 00:08:09.055
He was talking about doing that in life and on social media, and everything he was saying I really resonated with.

00:08:09.055 --> 00:08:09.661
Here's what happened.

00:08:09.661 --> 00:08:10.723
Long story shorter.

00:08:12.105 --> 00:08:31.305
So around Christmas time I was sitting outside in Kentucky freezing my tail off and this guy come out of nowhere and, like Wizard of Oz, he pulled the curtain back and he started talking about all these things right, how to connect with people, how to bring value, how to sort people and attract and repel and be yourself, be authentic.

00:08:31.305 --> 00:08:32.128
I was like wow.

00:08:32.128 --> 00:08:34.928
So I burned this guy up for three hours.

00:08:34.928 --> 00:08:35.923
He's giving me this stuff.

00:08:35.923 --> 00:08:37.448
I almost paid four grand for right.

00:08:37.448 --> 00:08:39.423
So fast forward.

00:08:39.423 --> 00:08:42.772
And this is how the hounds got started my unexpected leadership.

00:08:42.772 --> 00:08:45.888
So from December to March he was putting us in a group.

00:08:45.888 --> 00:08:46.850
I was learning.

00:08:46.850 --> 00:08:47.884
I was learning all this stuff.

00:08:47.884 --> 00:08:50.308
I didn't know how to do live streams, all this stuff.

00:08:51.260 --> 00:08:57.633
And then he called me up one day and this changed not just my life but many lives through the hounds and a lot of entrepreneurs and business owners.

00:08:57.633 --> 00:09:02.673
He called me up and he says hey, man, your profile picture sucks and you're wearing a suit.

00:09:02.673 --> 00:09:03.114
Why?

00:09:03.114 --> 00:09:06.523
I said wow, man, they don't parse words in Chicago, do they?

00:09:06.523 --> 00:09:07.004
Right, scoop?

00:09:07.004 --> 00:09:08.086
I said wow.

00:09:08.148 --> 00:09:09.250
I said I'm a fiduciary.

00:09:09.250 --> 00:09:12.307
I'm supposed to brush my teeth, comb my hair, take a bath, that kind of stuff.

00:09:12.307 --> 00:09:14.091
He says is it working for you?

00:09:14.091 --> 00:09:17.322
No, no, I make more money crushing 10Ks.

00:09:17.322 --> 00:09:18.524
No, it's not doing anything.

00:09:18.524 --> 00:09:21.807
He says so why don't you let yourself out?

00:09:21.807 --> 00:09:22.990
He says why don't you just?

00:09:22.990 --> 00:09:26.212
He said you talked about chickens when you explained investments.

00:09:26.212 --> 00:09:27.154
For Pete's sake, right?

00:09:27.154 --> 00:09:29.581
He said why don't you put your hat on your camo hat?

00:09:29.581 --> 00:09:30.585
Just let that all go.

00:09:30.585 --> 00:09:33.451
I said man, you must be out of your mind, you must be sick.

00:09:33.451 --> 00:09:35.601
I said I'll be the laughingstock.

00:09:35.601 --> 00:09:36.482
It'll never work.

00:09:36.482 --> 00:09:38.605
He said is it working now?

00:09:38.605 --> 00:09:39.647
What do you got to lose?

00:09:39.647 --> 00:09:42.990
My goodness, get that right there.

00:09:43.030 --> 00:09:47.535
I said you know what, unless you got a shovel, you can't go further than bottom, and I had no interest in doing that scoop.

00:09:47.535 --> 00:09:51.548
So from that point on, I said you know what I am?

00:09:51.548 --> 00:09:52.191
I'm going to be me.

00:09:52.191 --> 00:09:54.962
And it's not like when I put I did Larry the Cable Guy in reverse.

00:09:54.962 --> 00:09:57.725
For folks who can't see this, this is not a costume.

00:09:57.725 --> 00:10:05.596
I'm sitting here in my flannel sleeveless shirt, my camo hat, and I don't care, I do this at church, million-dollar deals everywhere.

00:10:05.596 --> 00:10:06.624
This is just who I am.

00:10:06.624 --> 00:10:08.392
Because I want to be happy, that's it, period.

00:10:08.392 --> 00:10:15.681
And I told you backstage if I couldn't be happy in business and be myself, then I'll go be a rodeo clown or something I can be successful at.

00:10:15.681 --> 00:10:18.804
So I like to feel the dreams I built it.

00:10:18.804 --> 00:10:24.932
So when the guy he got kicked off, my mentor, he was teaching me stuff, he had a big mouth right, you make the wrong people mad.

00:10:24.932 --> 00:10:25.913
He got kicked off finally.

00:10:25.913 --> 00:10:27.875
So I became the de facto leader.

00:10:27.875 --> 00:10:35.721
Long story short, if I ever have one.

00:10:35.721 --> 00:10:36.202
This is what happened.

00:10:36.243 --> 00:10:41.965
I said to myself, instead of trying to pretend to sell and not sell and all these hardcore things that I've learned and in hindsight I know why it didn't work it didn't work because I hated it.

00:10:41.965 --> 00:10:44.350
It was incongruent with who I was.

00:10:44.350 --> 00:10:46.624
So I had to find a way and I said you know what?

00:10:46.624 --> 00:10:47.647
I don't have nothing to lose.

00:10:47.647 --> 00:10:58.605
So instead of doing like everybody in my industry was doing, trying to find Joe Rogan and Oprah before they're the big successful people, I said you know what, what if I just loved on people who could be Joe Rogan and Oprah?

00:10:58.605 --> 00:11:00.407
It's like meeting Oprah before she's Oprah.

00:11:00.407 --> 00:11:01.489
And that's what I did.

00:11:01.489 --> 00:11:03.250
I became an impromptu dating coach.

00:11:03.250 --> 00:11:04.412
I did anything.

00:11:04.412 --> 00:11:06.693
I taught on LinkedIn, all the stuff I learned the hard way.

00:11:06.714 --> 00:11:11.245
I taught others and I said if I loved on the right people, maybe they'll take a look.

00:11:11.245 --> 00:11:13.892
Once they got to know who I am, they'll know I can trust me.

00:11:13.892 --> 00:11:16.241
Maybe they'll take a look and move to try and buy.

00:11:16.241 --> 00:11:20.524
And sure enough and I was honest and all the entrepreneurs listening be honest.

00:11:20.524 --> 00:11:24.807
I said listen, I know you're going to make money, I'm going to help you.

00:11:24.807 --> 00:11:28.730
And when you start making $10,000, $15,000 a month, guess who's coming after you.

00:11:28.730 --> 00:11:31.833
Oh yeah, everybody's going, but you're going to say, no, thank you.

00:11:31.833 --> 00:11:34.395
The redneck was here when I was broke, I'm going to stick with him.

00:11:34.395 --> 00:11:36.037
And they said, yeah, we'll do that.

00:11:36.037 --> 00:11:46.597
Well, hey, in June, the market went down and everybody started panicking, and and they not just them Scoob their family, their friends.

00:11:47.197 --> 00:11:50.360
And I realized this ain't a fluke man, this ain't one off.

00:11:50.360 --> 00:11:54.342
This is a recipe, a formula for heart centered, high level professionals.

00:11:54.342 --> 00:11:58.446
Instead of worrying about what we want, we go out there and help others and they reciprocate.

00:11:58.446 --> 00:12:00.846
And that's what we built from accident.

00:12:00.846 --> 00:12:07.932
And I resisted all of that for months because of my own self-esteem issues and lack of self-value.

00:12:07.932 --> 00:12:13.878
I just didn't see it, and so that's what took me into that journey, because most of us think we have a business problem.

00:12:13.878 --> 00:12:21.746
We have a head problem, we have a confidence, self-worth problem, and I'm open about that because I want people to know it's not you.

00:12:21.746 --> 00:12:24.857
You showed up to a football game with a baseball bat, just like I did.

00:12:24.857 --> 00:12:27.184
There's nothing wrong with you, you just have to learn.

00:12:27.184 --> 00:12:28.006
That's what we stand for.

00:12:28.006 --> 00:12:38.943
People aren't judged in the hounds, and we are pushing people up who have a great impact to make, but they just don't have the resources or the support to do it, and that's what we stand for, brother.

00:12:39.746 --> 00:12:40.590
That's fantastic.

00:12:40.590 --> 00:12:48.566
It's something that comes across my mind when you say things like that, and that's something I like to say too is we rise by lifting others right.

00:12:48.566 --> 00:12:53.835
We want to help other people and in turn they'll help us, and it's a whole reciprocal thing.

00:12:53.835 --> 00:13:03.235
And then when we get to a point where we can pay them for services or anything, we're going to be the first ones on their mind because we're the ones that actually helped him right in the first place.

00:13:03.235 --> 00:13:08.081
And it was so nice of this gentleman to pull back the curtain, like you're talking about earlier.

00:13:08.081 --> 00:13:16.320
Let you tour the factory, see how he did things and lift you that way Right, and that's it's amazing.

00:13:16.320 --> 00:13:25.028
But it sounds like from the very beginning you actually came across one of my main hurdles, and that would be imposter syndrome.

00:13:25.028 --> 00:13:34.264
And it sounds like, since you've gotten over imposter syndrome to a point cause we always have imposter syndrome at one point or another it just changed your life.

00:13:37.149 --> 00:13:38.530
It did and it still is.

00:13:38.530 --> 00:13:39.437
Again.

00:13:39.437 --> 00:13:45.244
What's in between the two ears is everything, and we all have stuff to overcome.

00:13:45.244 --> 00:13:47.503
We've had people, family ourselves.

00:13:47.503 --> 00:13:50.363
We grew up with people doubting us or saying things about us.

00:13:50.363 --> 00:13:51.145
You can't do that.

00:13:51.145 --> 00:13:55.842
So we have these tapes that go off in our head and it's really difficult to see it.

00:13:55.842 --> 00:14:03.134
But I hate to say it, but a lot of times we have to rely on external validation or KPIs right.

00:14:03.134 --> 00:14:11.984
But once you do something and again, this is something I learned a long time ago so if you're struggling out there with imposter syndrome or I'm not good enough, join the club.

00:14:11.984 --> 00:14:13.865
But here's what you should do.

00:14:13.865 --> 00:14:16.748
You should take count of the evidence.

00:14:16.748 --> 00:14:19.129
It's like saying Scrooge is not good at it yes, he is.

00:14:19.129 --> 00:14:20.731
Or he would be doing it every week.

00:14:25.115 --> 00:14:30.128
Right, you look back and say, hey, I am successful, I've had successful people on this show, I've done this, I've done that.

00:14:30.128 --> 00:14:32.634
And you have to celebrate the wins and I'm not talking about celebrating with others.

00:14:32.634 --> 00:14:39.436
Celebrate them to yourself, because that's like throwing water on the negativity of fire in your brain.

00:14:39.436 --> 00:14:41.260
You got to say, hey, you know what?

00:14:41.260 --> 00:14:42.504
I hear this tape going off.

00:14:42.504 --> 00:14:43.767
But is that right?

00:14:43.767 --> 00:14:46.522
I just did A, b and C Right.

00:14:46.522 --> 00:14:48.145
So celebrate those little wins.

00:14:48.145 --> 00:14:53.727
If you're an extrovert and you stood up and talked for five seconds, dadgummit, you should really celebrate yourself and say I did that.

00:14:53.727 --> 00:15:00.499
And you stack the other one on top of that and then one day you keep doing that and hey, you look in the mirror.

00:15:00.499 --> 00:15:02.202
You made that person.

00:15:02.202 --> 00:15:07.679
You made that man and woman Right Child by fire and, by the way, I'm a firm believer woman right Trial by fire.

00:15:07.679 --> 00:15:14.350
And, by the way, I'm a firm believer, scoob, if you can't let it be, if you can't let those tapes or something that someone said to hurt, you, use it as fuel.

00:15:19.835 --> 00:15:25.788
Hey, I was working the other day and I was going to stop and somebody's negative tape went off in my head and it just put me down.

00:15:25.788 --> 00:15:29.436
It was bad, and it has been years since I heard this and I said you know what I got you.

00:15:29.436 --> 00:15:31.982
And so I'm working and my wife comes in and she's like it's Friday, why are you working until eight o'clock?

00:15:31.982 --> 00:15:33.655
I said because they're not.

00:15:33.655 --> 00:15:47.785
Because they're not, because I am going to do this, I'm not going to talk about it, I'm not, I'm going to make things happen, because that negative tape could have done two things could have knocked me down and kept me down, or I can learn to use it for fuel.

00:15:47.785 --> 00:15:55.966
So if somebody throws a bag of horse dung at you, you can either let it soil your day or you can use it to make your fertilizer factory stock go up.

00:15:55.966 --> 00:15:56.789
Does that make sense?

00:15:56.789 --> 00:15:58.034
Oh, it makes perfect sense.

00:15:58.034 --> 00:15:59.053
So it's all the way you see it.

00:15:59.053 --> 00:16:00.441
It's all the way you see it, brother.

00:16:01.375 --> 00:16:15.711
It's what we do with that tape, as, like you're talking about earlier, it's what we do with that information is what makes us who we are as humans, right, do we turn that thing into something that's going to bring us down or do we turn that into something that's going to say, hey, you said I can't do this.

00:16:15.711 --> 00:16:20.057
Just watch me do this and then do the thing right.

00:16:20.057 --> 00:16:21.500
I think I heard this the other day.

00:16:21.500 --> 00:16:24.267
Frank Sinatra said this the best.

00:16:24.267 --> 00:16:26.878
I hope I say this the best.

00:16:26.878 --> 00:16:27.198
Come on brain.

00:16:27.198 --> 00:16:28.142
Oh gosh, I love editing.

00:16:28.142 --> 00:16:29.916
Let's see the best.

00:16:29.916 --> 00:16:32.301
Revenge is massive success.

00:16:32.301 --> 00:16:36.129
So we use this negativity from other people as fuel.

00:16:36.129 --> 00:16:40.105
Watch me do this and I will accomplish what you think I can't do.

00:16:42.195 --> 00:16:51.629
Absolutely and use it for fuel, not just because you don't want to get up every day and just do stuff to counter others, but use it as a way to do the hard work.

00:16:51.629 --> 00:16:53.722
We bury our head in the sand for a reason.

00:16:53.722 --> 00:16:58.086
We buried the childhood trauma and all this stuff that we deal with and we just carry it around.

00:16:58.086 --> 00:17:00.221
So use that to dive in.

00:17:00.221 --> 00:17:09.017
I faced massive betrayals and all kinds of things, man from people and I had to realize one day hey, dogs bark, cats meow on people, people, I'm responsible.

00:17:09.017 --> 00:17:11.044
It doesn't mean it's right, it doesn't mean that they should have done it.

00:17:11.044 --> 00:17:16.646
It means that if this continues to happen, it's me, it's not Scoop's fault, it's not their fault.

00:17:16.646 --> 00:17:18.176
I have to live with me.

00:17:18.176 --> 00:17:20.901
So I had to learn why am I not setting boundaries?

00:17:20.901 --> 00:17:22.221
Why am I not doing this?

00:17:22.221 --> 00:17:25.948
Because oftentimes it's something stuck, it's not the business.

00:17:25.948 --> 00:17:35.755
It's like when you give a sales pitch, somebody is ready to listen and they were going to buy, but you couldn't close the deal.

00:17:35.755 --> 00:17:36.936
You got to ask yourself what is that?

00:17:36.936 --> 00:17:38.089
Because you may not believe it, but how the heck are they going to believe it?

00:17:38.089 --> 00:17:39.361
If you don't believe in you, they're not going to believe in you.

00:17:39.361 --> 00:17:49.971
So you can have the best sales scripts on earth, but unless you own it and that, to me, takes a lot of inner work you have to dive in and go hey, what's my flaws, what's the truth?

00:17:49.971 --> 00:18:00.396
But once you come out the other side of that, nobody can hurt you, and you really can't, because you're basically obsessed with the mission Right now.

00:18:01.098 --> 00:18:06.482
This impact I want to see it on a scale Hundreds is great, but I want to see tens of thousands.

00:18:06.482 --> 00:18:07.486
I want to see millions.

00:18:07.486 --> 00:18:09.739
I want to see millions of lives changed.

00:18:09.739 --> 00:18:11.201
It's not just about making money.

00:18:11.201 --> 00:18:25.000
If thousands of heart-centered, high-level professionals, if we got to do whatever we wanted every single day, with whoever we wanted, then we can make a serious dent in stuff that matters Food, insecurity, homelessness, equality and that's what the HALN stands for.

00:18:25.000 --> 00:18:34.728
And out of the pain and being rejected for 40 years, now, at 43 years old, I'm leading an amazing team and community of people who believe like this.

00:18:35.355 --> 00:18:39.506
So whatever you're struggling with that you're avoiding out there, face it.

00:18:39.506 --> 00:18:48.001
Face it, because what stands in the way becomes the way, and I think that's what's the problem, right, once you can overcome that, how powerful it is to look someone in the eye and go.

00:18:48.001 --> 00:18:55.207
I understand you, I've been there and you tell them the hard truth and they take your advice because they believe you right, because you've been there.

00:18:55.207 --> 00:19:02.640
That's what we need to be for each other, and so if you're out there struggling, go find somebody that can point you in the right direction, that you respect.

00:19:02.640 --> 00:19:04.576
They've been there and go interview them.

00:19:04.576 --> 00:19:05.438
They've been there and go interview them.

00:19:05.438 --> 00:19:06.519
Say, how did you get unstuck?

00:19:06.519 --> 00:19:07.201
And then go to work.

00:19:07.201 --> 00:19:16.183
Once you get your head and your heart, once you know why you get out of bed, no one can hurt you, and that's what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur, or success in general, in my opinion.

00:19:17.446 --> 00:19:22.758
Absolutely, and that actually is really close to my heart too, because I'm a former 16-year car salesman.

00:19:22.758 --> 00:19:32.344
So if you want to talk about having to have that right mindset, and if you don't believe in your product, you don't believe in yourself and your capabilities, there ain't nobody buying anything from you.

00:19:32.344 --> 00:19:34.306
And it's so weird.

00:19:34.306 --> 00:19:40.329
How it worked for me was like if you're not selling anything, you sell nothing, and people feel that.

00:19:40.329 --> 00:19:42.891
People know that negativity that you have in your heart.

00:19:42.891 --> 00:19:45.333
I got to sell this, I got to sell this, otherwise I'm not going to make money.

00:19:45.333 --> 00:19:47.097
It hurts, it's not good.

00:19:47.558 --> 00:19:50.186
When you sell something, suddenly you're selling everything.

00:19:50.186 --> 00:19:52.884
Everything turns to gold because you have that confidence.

00:19:52.884 --> 00:19:53.415
You have that.

00:19:53.415 --> 00:19:55.221
Okay, now it's working, everything's working.

00:19:55.221 --> 00:19:58.521
So that's awesome and you bring up a good point.

00:19:58.521 --> 00:20:01.163
Take responsibility for your actions and what you do.

00:20:01.163 --> 00:20:15.017
Say, hey, I did this, yes, I did this, whatever it is that you have to take responsibility for, good or bad, because it's going to show you as a real person that takes real responsibility for what you do and what your accomplishments are.

00:20:15.017 --> 00:20:25.519
And when we do change a life, we don't just change that life, we change the lives of everybody that touches that life, and so on and so on and so on.

00:20:25.519 --> 00:20:32.730
And that's how we change the world by changing one life, we could change many, many lives behind that.

00:20:34.016 --> 00:20:42.223
The compound effect Absolutely, and that's there's things that I've done in just a short amount of time that I'll never see, the fruit that I'll never see.

00:20:42.223 --> 00:20:43.026
And I was blessed.

00:20:43.026 --> 00:20:44.896
I was blessed to see, to be the catalyst.

00:20:44.896 --> 00:20:52.208
We're the hounds of business, right, we're not the hounds of therapy or kumbaya, but, honestly, we were born out of a friendship group.

00:20:52.208 --> 00:20:55.278
We rallied behind each other because we believed in each other.

00:20:55.278 --> 00:21:01.983
We were struggling together in the same kind of ways, and that's what launched some of the most innovative projects.

00:21:02.044 --> 00:21:09.198
I probably made 10 cents an hour on the very first project when it was all said and done Scoop, but I didn't care because I cared about this person.

00:21:09.198 --> 00:21:10.442
They gave me a chance, right.

00:21:10.442 --> 00:21:17.335
I wanted to prove that I could do it for them, and it's like playing an Olympic-sized ping pong game, right, you hit the ball a little bit, I hit it back.

00:21:17.335 --> 00:21:22.836
Before you know it, man, we've got this fiery speed game going and that's a fun feeling.

00:21:22.836 --> 00:21:25.738
So, yeah, I'm with you on that, man.

00:21:25.738 --> 00:21:30.299
Find your tribe, too, because we touched on something earlier.

00:21:30.299 --> 00:21:35.362
Yeah, help the right people, keyword right people, test people, discern people.

00:21:35.362 --> 00:21:42.984
Know that not everybody's going to share your heart, right, but look for people who show and demonstrate core values that resonate with you.

00:21:42.984 --> 00:21:51.188
I'm seriously in this to help people, help myself, help my family right, Change that generational baggage, but then also go out there and help others do it.

00:21:52.088 --> 00:21:57.111
I don't talk about it much, but somebody opened up about it and I shared my recovering alcoholic story.

00:21:57.111 --> 00:22:00.271
Right Eight years sober and I had no clue.

00:22:00.271 --> 00:22:02.292
Two and a half hours I said, oh, nothing's going to happen.

00:22:02.292 --> 00:22:09.537
Everything I said they took action on man and to be the catalyst unbelievable.

00:22:09.537 --> 00:22:10.819
So in your business, the same thing.

00:22:10.819 --> 00:22:14.627
Stop acting like it's weird or you're taking money from people.

00:22:14.627 --> 00:22:16.117
Get over yourself.

00:22:16.117 --> 00:22:22.901
You're out here trying to use your business as an extension of who you are and it has value and they have a solution.

00:22:22.901 --> 00:22:32.881
And if you don't do that, if you don't own that, if you don't spend late nights getting over it and learning your craft and getting healthy inside, then they're going to go waste money elsewhere and I think that's the key.

00:22:32.881 --> 00:22:37.145
So even in business, especially in business, you can have a compound effect.

00:22:37.145 --> 00:22:39.282
It's more than just selling products, guys.

00:22:39.282 --> 00:22:42.064
So thank you for that scoop, because that was that was gold brother.

00:22:42.515 --> 00:22:44.498
Oh, thanks, yeah, I love talking about that.

00:22:44.498 --> 00:22:54.029
And you are when you, when you're doing something where you don't care if you're paid 10 cents or at all, really, you really get into this.

00:22:54.029 --> 00:22:55.151
You're in your zone of genius.

00:22:55.151 --> 00:23:00.316
You're in your zone of genius.

00:23:00.316 --> 00:23:03.602
When you're doing something you love so much, you don't care if you get paid or not, and I always talk about that in my podcast.

00:23:03.602 --> 00:23:07.148
If it's something that you love that much, go do it.

00:23:07.148 --> 00:23:09.736
Go do it for free.

00:23:09.736 --> 00:23:22.183
All it's going to do is make you feel better, that you're helping other people accomplish what they need to accomplish in their lives, and that gives you that nice, warm, squishy feeling in your chest right there, because that is worth more than any kind of money that you have.

00:23:23.205 --> 00:23:32.450
And you make a good point about making sure that the people you surround yourself with are good people, people that you can lean on, people that understand you.

00:23:32.450 --> 00:23:39.806
We are the combination of the five people we hang around most, so we have to be careful about what five people those are.

00:23:39.806 --> 00:23:45.625
And you make a good point about the whole thing, too.

00:23:45.625 --> 00:23:47.345
It's like, yes, we want to get paid, we're entrepreneurs, that's what we do.

00:23:47.345 --> 00:23:48.068
It's like, yes, we want to get paid.

00:23:48.068 --> 00:23:50.394
We're entrepreneurs, that's what we do, that's how we keep things going.

00:23:50.394 --> 00:23:55.166
But the money is the byproduct of how well we serve others.

00:23:55.166 --> 00:24:01.367
So make sure that we are serving others first, and the money will follow.

00:24:01.367 --> 00:24:03.298
It's not the other way around.

00:24:06.467 --> 00:24:08.258
Gold man, why aren't you in the hounds?

00:24:08.258 --> 00:24:09.321
We got to fix that, all right.

00:24:09.321 --> 00:24:14.150
So I love what you said because, guys, this is I'm not a theorist, I'm a practitioner.

00:24:14.150 --> 00:24:15.335
I do things right.

00:24:15.335 --> 00:24:18.422
I know, and I could tell Scoob does too.

00:24:18.422 --> 00:24:21.816
So I'll give you a prime example about it Free, all right.

00:24:21.875 --> 00:24:23.099
Sometimes you got to start off.

00:24:23.099 --> 00:24:24.605
That's all you can do is free, nobody.

00:24:24.605 --> 00:24:31.156
You have no authority.

00:24:31.156 --> 00:24:32.983
Maybe your branding's off, there's something going on, but maybe free is all you can do.

00:24:32.983 --> 00:24:34.028
But I'll tell you what I did it the other day.

00:24:34.048 --> 00:24:35.694
I said, oh, I'm going to do this and I'm going to work on this program.

00:24:35.694 --> 00:24:37.195
And I did it.

00:24:37.195 --> 00:24:38.337
I put the person on there.

00:24:38.337 --> 00:24:39.179
They got success.

00:24:39.179 --> 00:24:41.080
It was funny, it was cute, it was innovative.

00:24:41.080 --> 00:24:43.223
And they didn't pay me for it and it broke me.

00:24:43.223 --> 00:24:47.048
I was like, oh man, what the heck, like, how could you not pay me?

00:24:47.048 --> 00:24:50.441
And I know it worked, because the next day they were like can you do it again with this code?

00:24:50.441 --> 00:24:52.101
They wouldn't have said that if it didn't work.

00:24:52.315 --> 00:24:57.025
So when you go out there and do things and people don't go with it, you know what I did, guys.

00:24:57.025 --> 00:25:01.496
I took that and I showed the other four people who became a sponsor quick right.

00:25:01.496 --> 00:25:05.837
So go out there and do a couple of things, and not just free, but trade.

00:25:05.837 --> 00:25:09.441
There's people out there, you have cookies, they have milk Go out there.

00:25:09.441 --> 00:25:19.205
If you're struggling and you're just implementing stuff in your entrepreneur business, then go find you a business strategist Right, like that's what I did Christine Bell, one of the best, most brilliant business strategists.

00:25:19.205 --> 00:25:27.351
I couldn't afford it, I could never find it, but because we're in community and I had the specific sales piece that helped her fill in the blanks.

00:25:27.351 --> 00:25:38.199
So we crossed over and now we promote each other, now we help each other, we refer people, we bring each other business.

00:25:38.199 --> 00:25:40.811
So go out there and find a dadgum partner that you can cross, pollinate and learn from and grow with.

00:25:40.832 --> 00:25:41.273
That's the ultimate.

00:25:41.273 --> 00:25:43.861
My opinion Doesn't always have to be about money.

00:25:43.861 --> 00:25:49.419
There's other things, other practices, other experience that you could trade with other people.

00:25:49.419 --> 00:25:51.365
You make a great analogy.

00:25:51.365 --> 00:25:54.354
I love that mocha cookie analogy because now you're making me hungry, me too.

00:25:54.354 --> 00:25:57.582
I'll give you a good example of that too.

00:25:57.582 --> 00:26:04.061
When I first started three years ago, I came across a gentleman who did graphics.

00:26:04.061 --> 00:26:08.597
It was something I actually wanted in my podcast, in my YouTube channel.

00:26:08.597 --> 00:26:15.383
At the same time, I couldn't pay the guy, so I was like, hey, how about if I give you six months of free advertising on podcast?

00:26:15.383 --> 00:26:16.305
Perfect.

00:26:16.305 --> 00:26:18.837
He gave me the graphics.

00:26:18.837 --> 00:26:24.489
I advertised him for actually almost a year after that and it just worked out.

00:26:24.489 --> 00:26:26.098
So there's always a way to work something out.

00:26:26.098 --> 00:26:28.286
It doesn't always have to be an exchange of cash.

00:26:29.836 --> 00:26:31.142
Man, that beautiful example.

00:26:31.142 --> 00:26:34.343
I'm not going to spoil it with my redneck idioms man, that's good.

00:26:34.343 --> 00:26:40.105
Good job, yeah, Because again, stop thinking like a chess piece on the board.

00:26:40.105 --> 00:26:40.846
Stop, stop.

00:26:40.846 --> 00:26:43.259
Everybody wants to be the queen or the bishop or the rook.

00:26:43.259 --> 00:26:44.181
Stop that.

00:26:44.181 --> 00:26:48.348
Zoom out, Take an aerial view of the board and become a chess master.

00:26:54.075 --> 00:26:54.395
I can't do that.

00:26:54.395 --> 00:26:55.480
You know what I'm going to go like water.

00:26:55.480 --> 00:26:56.104
I can't go through it.

00:26:56.104 --> 00:26:56.886
I'll go over it, under it, around it.

00:26:56.886 --> 00:26:57.209
I'll find a way.

00:26:57.209 --> 00:26:57.569
I'll create a way.

00:26:57.569 --> 00:26:58.915
I'm a creator and that's what I do.

00:26:59.076 --> 00:27:01.622
I take things, I innovate them and I make it work.

00:27:01.622 --> 00:27:03.226
If it don't work, do it anyway.

00:27:03.226 --> 00:27:04.127
Find a way.

00:27:04.127 --> 00:27:09.277
You're an entrepreneur.

00:27:09.277 --> 00:27:09.978
You ain't got no rules.

00:27:09.978 --> 00:27:10.400
You left that job.

00:27:10.400 --> 00:27:11.281
You need to make the rules.

00:27:11.281 --> 00:27:14.498
As long as it's not illegal, immoral and unethical, who cares what's the worst that can happen?

00:27:14.498 --> 00:27:16.344
It doesn't work, Then don't do it again.

00:27:16.344 --> 00:27:18.859
But how are you supposed to know if it don't work unless you try it?

00:27:18.859 --> 00:27:21.146
I will look like the biggest goofball.

00:27:21.146 --> 00:27:28.497
I don't care, I test Now.

00:27:28.497 --> 00:27:29.702
I do it in secret as much as possible, but I'll go out there.

00:27:29.722 --> 00:27:30.467
I did some donkey thing the other day.

00:27:30.467 --> 00:27:31.352
I can't remember, but I know it was like man.

00:27:31.352 --> 00:27:32.316
That was really bad, but you know what?

00:27:32.316 --> 00:27:33.644
It could have been really good.

00:27:33.644 --> 00:27:40.455
Sometimes it turns out really good, like putting a stupid camo hat on and being yourself right, Like I wouldn't be here right now if I didn't do that crazy move.

00:27:40.455 --> 00:27:44.519
So here's another one that I think you'll like courage before confidence.

00:27:44.519 --> 00:27:46.742
How did you get the confidence, man?

00:27:46.742 --> 00:27:47.723
I had no confidence.

00:27:47.723 --> 00:27:50.467
That's another one of your four stops right.

00:27:50.467 --> 00:27:53.510
I didn't have no confidence, I had courage.

00:27:53.510 --> 00:27:59.977
I had courage to be rejected again.

00:27:59.977 --> 00:28:00.698
I had courage to look like a donkey.

00:28:00.698 --> 00:28:01.219
That's what it takes.

00:28:01.219 --> 00:28:02.141
So don't believe this confidence stuff.

00:28:02.141 --> 00:28:03.545
Go get beat up a little bit.

00:28:03.545 --> 00:28:08.345
You'll gain some confidence or you'll quit At least you know where you're.

00:28:08.404 --> 00:28:08.465
At.

00:28:08.465 --> 00:28:15.435
That way, we don't have the regret of not knowing what's on the other side of what we could have done.

00:28:15.576 --> 00:28:19.064
And you actually hit a good spot too, for failure.

00:28:19.064 --> 00:28:24.803
It's what we do with that failure, what we learn from that failure and take it into our next adventure.

00:28:24.803 --> 00:28:26.567
So we don't do it again.

00:28:26.567 --> 00:28:28.892
And take it into our next adventure.

00:28:28.892 --> 00:28:33.525
So we don't do it again, or we can help somebody else with that story of failure and improve what they're trying to accomplish.

00:28:33.525 --> 00:28:37.022
So failure is not really a failure if you really think about it.

00:28:37.022 --> 00:28:38.126
Failure is there.

00:28:38.126 --> 00:28:40.063
Failure is what we do as entrepreneurs.

00:28:40.063 --> 00:28:42.943
It's going to be part of it because that's how we learn things.

00:28:42.943 --> 00:28:52.088
But it's what we do after that failure, whether we take it within ourselves or make it a stop one of my hurdles of stop.

00:28:52.088 --> 00:28:56.365
But you know, guys like you and me, michael, we don't stop.

00:28:56.365 --> 00:28:58.923
We take that in and use it as a tool.

00:29:01.076 --> 00:29:01.640
And I fail.

00:29:01.640 --> 00:29:07.585
Honestly, if anybody wants to get into the who failed the most category, I might beat you.

00:29:07.585 --> 00:29:11.061
I'll be honest, you're right, it's failure.

00:29:11.061 --> 00:29:16.968
We hear this and we hear this all the time in self-help books and failure fell forward and all this stuff.

00:29:16.968 --> 00:29:24.654
Listen, if you're failing over and over again with the same thing, you got a problem because you're not learning and you're truly.

00:29:24.654 --> 00:29:29.538
You may say, oh, I'm learning and growing, but you're not, or you wouldn't be on the same hurdle, right?

00:29:29.538 --> 00:29:31.118
You're on the same problem.

00:29:31.118 --> 00:29:32.779
Here's, here's how I look at it.

00:29:34.241 --> 00:29:38.732
Life and business and entrepreneurship is just one continuous challenge after the other.

00:29:38.732 --> 00:29:39.462
It really is.

00:29:39.462 --> 00:29:40.307
There's no arrival.

00:29:40.307 --> 00:29:41.192
I don't know what that is.

00:29:41.192 --> 00:29:43.082
If there's somebody out there knows, let me know.

00:29:43.082 --> 00:29:45.006
But there's no arrival.

00:29:45.006 --> 00:29:47.290
Warren Buffett has money problems.

00:29:47.290 --> 00:29:48.842
We have money problems.

00:29:48.842 --> 00:29:53.923
The difference is he's trying to pay less in taxes because he makes too much, and I'm trying to have his problems.

00:29:53.923 --> 00:29:54.404
That makes sense.

00:29:54.806 --> 00:29:59.121
So do all you can do to get off that hurdle number one and fail faster.

00:29:59.121 --> 00:30:06.289
You never go into a science lab and see the scientists throw the beaker across the room and start cussing because the experiment failed.

00:30:06.289 --> 00:30:08.156
In fact, they're elated.

00:30:08.156 --> 00:30:11.986
They thought it would take 6,000 failures and it happened at 600.

00:30:11.986 --> 00:30:24.883
So you have to take that approach, but you also have to be real with yourself, and that might mean late nights that might be trying to work out deals and things with other people who have that missing link like we talked about earlier.

00:30:25.384 --> 00:30:27.849
You really have to do the hard work.

00:30:27.849 --> 00:30:29.192
You got to pay the price now.

00:30:29.192 --> 00:30:31.003
There's none of this nine to five stuff.

00:30:31.003 --> 00:30:34.902
Maybe somebody can do it, but most of us look I built from dirt.

00:30:34.902 --> 00:30:36.744
Scoob, you can't even burn dirt.

00:30:36.744 --> 00:30:42.894
So when you, it took me years to get where a lot of people were just born at, in that scale of life.

00:30:42.894 --> 00:30:45.207
So compete, but don't compare.

00:30:45.279 --> 00:30:49.131
But I'm telling you you're capable of way more than you can even imagine.

00:30:49.131 --> 00:30:54.612
You listen to all the goofy motivational tapes you can find on LinkedIn or YouTube or whatever.

00:30:54.612 --> 00:30:57.547
Seriously, all day long there's something playing in my head.

00:30:57.547 --> 00:31:02.609
When I'm not working or with the family, there's some kind of tool motivation, self-love.

00:31:02.609 --> 00:31:08.727
I'm always constantly programming, reprogramming what should have been there from the beginning of childhood.

00:31:08.727 --> 00:31:11.246
But, guys, that's where the battle is.

00:31:11.246 --> 00:31:14.586
Get your head right, people, man, it balances off of me now.

00:31:14.586 --> 00:31:17.484
Stuff that used to break me three months ago makes me laugh in three minutes.

00:31:17.484 --> 00:31:19.528
That's growth, that's resilience.

00:31:19.528 --> 00:31:25.207
And you have to be honey badger tough to make it in most cases in this business, but you can.

00:31:25.207 --> 00:31:27.032
Don't let nobody stop you.

00:31:27.032 --> 00:31:29.941
That's my PBS special, right there.

00:31:29.961 --> 00:31:31.424
That's my best one.

00:31:33.269 --> 00:31:34.573
But you make a great point too.

00:31:34.573 --> 00:31:44.152
We come across a lot of people sometimes that want to put us down, that heckle us or they give us a bad, whatever it is that happens to be at that time.

00:31:44.152 --> 00:31:51.246
But we got to kind of think about what's going on in their heads that they have to go out and talk bad about somebody else, right?

00:31:51.246 --> 00:32:01.446
So when I come across something like that too, instead of feeling, oh he doesn't like me or whatever it is, I think what's going on in their lives that they have to do that.

00:32:01.446 --> 00:32:02.830
I kind of feel sorry for him.

00:32:05.980 --> 00:32:06.741
David Goggins.

00:32:06.741 --> 00:32:09.249
He said that tape, or something I heard the other day.

00:32:09.249 --> 00:32:15.598
He said you'll never get hated on by the people more successful than you, something like that, and it's right.

00:32:15.598 --> 00:32:17.003
The only people think about this.

00:32:17.003 --> 00:32:21.250
The only people putting you down, are people who, a failed and gave up by failure.

00:32:21.250 --> 00:32:24.768
They just couldn't hack it and B never even want to attempt it.

00:32:24.768 --> 00:32:27.126
And that's the vast majority of people, right.

00:32:27.126 --> 00:32:28.130
That's why they're grumpy.

00:32:28.130 --> 00:32:33.721
You're over here paying the price, probably going into debt, doing all kinds of crazy stuff, and they don't.

00:32:33.721 --> 00:32:36.723
But they kick a straight cow on the way home, right?

00:32:36.723 --> 00:32:39.326
They're the guy who yells out the window for no reason on the road race.

00:32:39.326 --> 00:32:43.412
So you have to frame this and go look, consider the source.

00:32:43.412 --> 00:32:45.334
I'll put it this way Scoob, I'm nuts man.

00:32:45.334 --> 00:32:46.115
You got to excuse me.

00:32:46.715 --> 00:32:47.616
I always looked at it as I said.

00:32:47.616 --> 00:32:55.561
Listen, if Mother Teresa looked at me and said that redneck's a real you-know-what, that would bother me, right?

00:32:55.561 --> 00:32:56.323
Because, hey, I don't like that person.

00:32:56.323 --> 00:32:57.284
I want to align with that person.

00:32:57.284 --> 00:32:57.943
That bothers me.

00:32:57.943 --> 00:33:07.190
Maybe I'm doing something out of character, but if somebody else like I'm not going to say his name, but some criminal doesn't like me, good, that doesn't make sense.

00:33:07.190 --> 00:33:08.090
I don't eat people, right?

00:33:08.090 --> 00:33:08.810
I'm not a cannibal.

00:33:08.810 --> 00:33:11.913
So if somebody said I don't like him, why would I care?

00:33:11.913 --> 00:33:13.493
And I know that sounds extreme.

00:33:13.493 --> 00:33:14.694
But guys, you got to.

00:33:15.355 --> 00:33:16.496
I used to look up at people.

00:33:16.496 --> 00:33:18.298
That's the worst thing you can do.

00:33:18.298 --> 00:33:23.161
Oh, this guy.

00:33:23.161 --> 00:33:23.582
No, we're all equal.

00:33:23.582 --> 00:33:25.426
We all put our pants on the same daggone way and you are worthy of respect.

00:33:25.426 --> 00:33:28.461
If that person doesn't respect you, walk off.

00:33:28.461 --> 00:33:38.813
I've walked off from $30,000 deals with zero income and a family and two kids because that person oh man, that person and I needed that money and I tried to justify it.

00:33:38.813 --> 00:33:41.489
Oh, my values, absolutely not.

00:33:41.489 --> 00:33:45.391
Integrity is top notch on my value system and this person has none Done.

00:33:45.391 --> 00:33:46.701
And it took a while.

00:33:47.443 --> 00:33:52.586
But opportunities start trickling in and then they started growing Because people, other people watch you.

00:33:52.586 --> 00:33:54.490
Man Lurkers are everywhere Social media.

00:33:54.490 --> 00:33:55.986
Nobody likes my post.

00:33:55.986 --> 00:33:57.566
They're watching you anyway.

00:33:57.566 --> 00:33:59.167
And everywhere social media, nobody likes my post.

00:33:59.167 --> 00:33:59.655
They're watching you anyway.

00:33:59.655 --> 00:34:01.593
And the reason they're not liking it is because everybody's been screwed by someone.

00:34:01.593 --> 00:34:02.714
So no one trusts anyone, especially on LinkedIn.

00:34:03.454 --> 00:34:10.429
So when you're out there being consistent an oak tree in a sea of tumbleweeds man, you're not a branding expert today and a lawn care expert the next day.

00:34:10.429 --> 00:34:11.820
Look around, that's what's happening.

00:34:11.820 --> 00:34:16.068
They're just chasing dollars, man, snake oil and you, you don't waver.

00:34:16.068 --> 00:34:16.869
A hurricane comes by, you don't waver.

00:34:16.869 --> 00:34:18.672
A hurricane comes by, you're still there.

00:34:18.672 --> 00:34:25.436
I'm telling you, when you operate from value system and you just start pushing everybody in the wayside, the noise.

00:34:25.436 --> 00:34:25.880
Your life will change.

00:34:25.880 --> 00:34:30.969
But you have to be willing to prune those branches, those people you're hanging out with late at night, watching TV or going to bars.

00:34:30.969 --> 00:34:33.606
Do you think successful people are doing that?

00:34:33.606 --> 00:34:40.585
No, so you have to start changing who you are, and it's painful to lose those relationships or put them on the pause button.

00:34:40.585 --> 00:34:41.907
But you got to.

00:34:41.907 --> 00:34:43.791
You can't have success and be average.

00:34:43.791 --> 00:34:45.523
That's counterintuitive.

00:34:45.523 --> 00:34:50.043
You cannot have this level of success and want to do what everybody else that you used to work with do.

00:34:50.043 --> 00:34:51.246
Does that make sense?

00:34:51.246 --> 00:34:53.900
You can't have your cake and eat it too at the beginning.

00:34:53.940 --> 00:34:55.422
Yeah, it makes perfect sense to me.

00:34:55.422 --> 00:35:03.664
You can't be hanging around the people that are average and think you're going to be bigger than what they are, because that's what you're surrounding yourself with.

00:35:03.664 --> 00:35:07.224
It actually circles right back to the five people that you surround yourself with most.

00:35:07.224 --> 00:35:12.362
And the other thing, too, that kind of caught my interest when you're talking there comparison.

00:35:12.402 --> 00:35:14.304
We don't want to compare ourselves to other people.

00:35:14.304 --> 00:35:16.626
We want to compare ourselves to ourselves.

00:35:16.626 --> 00:35:20.853
What we did a week ago, a month ago, a year ago comparison is the thief of joy.

00:35:20.853 --> 00:35:28.443
The more you compare yourself to these other people, you're going to get the imposter syndrome, because I'm never going to be like them, no matter how hard I try.

00:35:28.443 --> 00:35:30.831
No, that's not the way we want to think about things.

00:35:30.831 --> 00:35:35.190
The way we want to think about things is hey, I did this last week and now I'm better at it.

00:35:35.190 --> 00:35:39.905
I did this last month and I actually got a client out of it.

00:35:39.905 --> 00:35:45.003
I did this last year and I've actually was able to quit one of my jobs, because I work two full-time jobs but at the same.

00:35:45.003 --> 00:35:53.003
So we got to really think about it that way instead of comparing ourselves to other people.

00:35:53.664 --> 00:35:55.186
Hey, put man unbelievable.

00:35:55.748 --> 00:35:56.289
You get this.

00:35:56.289 --> 00:35:58.353
You absolutely get this right.

00:35:58.353 --> 00:35:59.213
And so compete.

00:35:59.213 --> 00:36:01.344
My mentor told me compete but don't compare.

00:36:01.344 --> 00:36:03.990
And I never understood that for a long time.

00:36:03.990 --> 00:36:04.452
I do now.

00:36:04.452 --> 00:36:05.681
I absolutely get it.

00:36:05.681 --> 00:36:08.369
But you know those people and I ain't gonna lie.

00:36:08.369 --> 00:36:13.505
I've had some people that they treat me like the valet parking right, like they're so big and I'm so small.

00:36:13.505 --> 00:36:14.567
We all encounter that.

00:36:14.567 --> 00:36:15.728
But you know what?

00:36:15.728 --> 00:36:21.695
I flipped the script In less than two, two and a half years I've got people who made some of the most amazing things.

00:36:21.695 --> 00:36:23.907
They made some of the candy we eat daily since the 80s.

00:36:23.907 --> 00:36:27.507
They're coming to me now and I don't mean that to be cocky.

00:36:27.599 --> 00:36:28.826
I used to say this all the time.

00:36:28.826 --> 00:36:34.509
I was like I feel like a poor kid, waking up at Santa's workshop every day, just being around these people and having this opportunity.

00:36:34.509 --> 00:36:37.092
And someone scooped, said hey, you got to quit.

00:36:37.092 --> 00:36:37.534
Saying that.

00:36:37.534 --> 00:36:39.722
I said why did I need to quit saying that?

00:36:39.722 --> 00:36:40.905
They said because you're Santa.

00:36:40.905 --> 00:36:43.351
Now I'm the last to know.

00:36:43.351 --> 00:36:45.864
But again, I didn't do it for that.

00:36:45.905 --> 00:36:48.802
But then I turned around and said you're the elephant with the tiny stick.

00:36:48.802 --> 00:36:54.963
You're the ginormous elephant that still thinks that tiny stick in the ground that you had since birth can keep you where you're at.

00:36:54.963 --> 00:36:59.630
All you got to do is sneeze and you'll pull that stick out and that's what you guys have to be on.

00:36:59.630 --> 00:37:03.481
Yeah, you're a baby, we're all babies but you grow up.

00:37:03.481 --> 00:37:13.079
And the faster you grow up, the harder you become, the more immersed in self-improvement, true self-improvement learning all the skill sets, staying up late, going to bed, what?

00:37:13.079 --> 00:37:17.568
Staying up late, going to bed early, something like that, and you know what I'm trying to say, but that's what I mean.

00:37:17.568 --> 00:37:21.614
And you hear this stuff and you're like, ah, but this is the, this is the real.

00:37:22.079 --> 00:37:26.110
You just have to pay the price and then think opportunities come about.

00:37:26.110 --> 00:37:35.362
I have a lady that popped in a year and a half ago and I just now kind of hit my first stride and I'm telling you, if this lady wasn't around, I'd probably be gone.

00:37:35.362 --> 00:37:36.422
We wouldn't be here right now.

00:37:36.422 --> 00:37:38.244
If, if this lady wasn't around, I'd probably be gone, we wouldn't be here right now.

00:37:38.244 --> 00:37:40.206
If she sprouted wings, I'd be like, yeah, it makes sense, I wouldn't even flinch.

00:37:40.206 --> 00:37:50.356
And those kinds of opportunities you can't plan them in a business plan, but when you get smarter and you plan, you open yourself up for more possibilities of these opportunities.

00:37:50.356 --> 00:37:59.003
More people like you will come into your life because you're doing the things that attract business people, things that attract business people.

00:37:59.003 --> 00:38:01.494
If you're out here talking bad about people, you're not going to attract high-level, caliber people.

00:38:01.514 --> 00:38:11.585
But if you start acting and back to the imposter syndrome, fake it till you make it sometimes, sometimes you have to get in there, you have to just cannonball yourself in it.

00:38:11.585 --> 00:38:14.340
It's like that John Wayne movie where he just throws the kid in the water.

00:38:14.340 --> 00:38:15.222
He's like how old are you?

00:38:15.222 --> 00:38:15.543
12?

00:38:15.543 --> 00:38:16.405
He just throw him in there.

00:38:16.405 --> 00:38:17.065
It's time to learn.

00:38:17.065 --> 00:38:19.150
He said grab some water and pull it to your chest.

00:38:19.150 --> 00:38:32.644
Sometimes you got to do it and most of the time in entrepreneurship you might look stupid or you might feel goofy, but just like you said earlier, scoop.

00:38:32.684 --> 00:38:33.204
Here's what I learned.

00:38:33.204 --> 00:38:38.027
If I don't do this, if I don't say this, if really don't care, then it probably don't matter.

00:38:38.027 --> 00:38:40.409
But is this going to keep me up at night?

00:38:40.409 --> 00:38:43.692
Same thing Somebody disrespects you and it bothers you.

00:38:43.692 --> 00:38:47.715
Hey, find a way to tell them nicely tomorrow, because it's going to eat at you.

00:38:47.715 --> 00:38:49.695
It's going to erode your confidence.

00:38:49.695 --> 00:38:51.197
It's going to erode everything you've got.

00:38:51.197 --> 00:38:55.523
So protect yourself, protect your self-worth.

00:38:55.523 --> 00:38:56.706
And yeah, I'm just getting off on it.

00:38:56.706 --> 00:38:58.371
Man, you're too good of a host.

00:38:58.371 --> 00:39:00.505
I'm just kidding you got to cut me off, man.

00:39:01.327 --> 00:39:07.286
I want to respect your time here, and this has been probably one of the most fascinating conversations I've had in a really long time.

00:39:07.286 --> 00:39:16.585
So, mike, I want to do one thing with you here before we go and I do this with all my guests I'd like to know what your six-month goal is.

00:39:16.585 --> 00:39:22.347
I always follow up with my guests every six months to find out how they've progressed in their entrepreneur adventure.

00:39:22.347 --> 00:39:25.625
So where do you see yourself and the hounds in the next six months?

00:39:26.367 --> 00:39:27.068
That's interesting.

00:39:27.068 --> 00:39:37.503
We're working on the KPIs and kind of measurements of the hounds, but here's where I want to go ultimately, because I'm still working on the six month plans.

00:39:37.503 --> 00:39:40.612
I'm not trying to duck you, but I can finally admit this.

00:39:40.612 --> 00:39:44.172
And when you can finally say this stuff out loud, then you know you're serious about business.

00:39:44.172 --> 00:39:45.699
You have a fighting chance in business.

00:39:45.699 --> 00:39:47.847
If you could say that somebody said what do you want?

00:39:47.847 --> 00:39:50.322
I used to give the answer oh, 10,000 people.

00:39:50.322 --> 00:39:51.105
Blah, blah, blah.

00:39:51.105 --> 00:39:52.088
Here's the real answer.

00:39:52.088 --> 00:39:54.791
And maybe in six months why not Crazier things have happened.

00:39:56.052 --> 00:39:59.175
Somebody's going to walk up to me one day and go oh, it's you, it's you.

00:39:59.175 --> 00:40:00.394
And I'm like yeah, it's me.

00:40:00.394 --> 00:40:01.376
Who is it?

00:40:01.376 --> 00:40:03.376
Oh, man, I love leading in the hounds.

00:40:03.376 --> 00:40:04.677
Oh, my goodness, I love this.

00:40:04.677 --> 00:40:05.597
All the hounds is great.

00:40:05.597 --> 00:40:07.838
And I go leading in the who is this person?

00:40:08.300 --> 00:40:20.297
See, because I'm flying around everywhere, I'm on jet planes, I'm on podcasts, I'm knocking down 20,000 people that are joining the pack right after I get done, talking man, because they relate to us, they get it, they want to be a part of it.

00:40:20.297 --> 00:40:21.920
They're astray, they found their way home.

00:40:21.920 --> 00:40:28.965
That's my ultimate goal and I couldn't have told you that six months ago, couldn't even say the words, but that's my goal.

00:40:28.965 --> 00:40:32.380
So, honestly, I'm not quite sure on my KPIs and all the technical.

00:40:32.380 --> 00:40:37.789
We're working on it now but that's the goal, that's the ultimate destination, and people go wow, that's crazy.

00:40:37.789 --> 00:40:39.030
No, I want three.

00:40:39.030 --> 00:40:44.103
I want 1 million people heart centered, high level professionals of all walks of professional life.

00:40:44.103 --> 00:40:46.510
I want a million of them in three years.

00:40:47.110 --> 00:40:48.643
People say, oh, that's nuts.

00:40:48.643 --> 00:40:50.427
You know what?

00:40:50.427 --> 00:40:52.152
Reach for the stars, grab a tree branch.

00:40:52.152 --> 00:40:57.543
And, by the way, watch around you the people who keep doubting your big visions.

00:40:57.543 --> 00:40:59.065
By the way, watch around you the people who keep doubting your big visions.

00:40:59.065 --> 00:41:01.666
I don't know, maybe they shouldn't be around you much longer.

00:41:01.666 --> 00:41:04.009
Because I said that to a group of people.

00:41:04.009 --> 00:41:07.092
Half of them went yeah, he's nuts and we're crazy enough to go with him.

00:41:07.092 --> 00:41:10.574
And the other part said I don't know and guess who stayed through thick and thin?

00:41:10.574 --> 00:41:15.664
Guess who's reaping the rewards of our success, guess who left.

00:41:15.664 --> 00:41:18.650
So yeah, I'm not trying to dodge the question, but that's what it's about.

00:41:18.650 --> 00:41:20.664
As soon as somebody walks up and goes, it's you.

00:41:20.664 --> 00:41:22.768
And this had an impact in my life.

00:41:22.768 --> 00:41:25.648
I'm going to know that all this crap I put up with is worth it.

00:41:26.289 --> 00:41:27.876
What's funny that you say that?

00:41:27.876 --> 00:41:31.681
Because that's actually my made it moment when I go out, like anywhere else.

00:41:31.681 --> 00:41:33.422
And aren't you Scoob?

00:41:33.422 --> 00:41:36.226
Yeah, I love you, know, and that kind of thing.

00:41:36.226 --> 00:41:37.005
That's all I want.

00:41:37.005 --> 00:41:41.849
I don't want a million bajillion dollars, I don't need to have millions of followers or anything.

00:41:41.849 --> 00:41:46.652
I just need one person to come up to me and just shake my hand and say I recognize you, thank you for what you do.

00:41:46.652 --> 00:41:47.494
That's all I want.

00:41:48.255 --> 00:41:51.637
That's it because you changed their lives Exactly, exactly.

00:41:51.637 --> 00:41:54.001
That's it All right.

00:41:54.001 --> 00:41:55.704
And when you've done it once, you can do it again.

00:41:55.704 --> 00:41:56.507
Now it's a scale up.

00:41:56.507 --> 00:42:00.614
And the last thing if you did it one time, that's enough.

00:42:00.614 --> 00:42:03.769
There's no difference between one and a thousand, except scalability.

00:42:03.769 --> 00:42:07.407
So ask yourself how can I do this twice as fast, right?

00:42:07.407 --> 00:42:08.469
How can I do this?

00:42:08.469 --> 00:42:09.373
That's it.

00:42:09.373 --> 00:42:11.766
Everybody out here listening going I can't do this.

00:42:11.766 --> 00:42:12.449
Y'all done did it.

00:42:12.449 --> 00:42:15.369
Probably did it six months ago, but you won.

00:42:15.369 --> 00:42:20.260
Oh, I did it for free.

00:42:20.260 --> 00:42:20.742
You still brought value.

00:42:20.742 --> 00:42:21.244
Stop dumping on yourself.

00:42:21.244 --> 00:42:22.989
That's all I want to say, because that's what's happening.

00:42:22.989 --> 00:42:24.663
Stop dumping it on yourself.

00:42:24.663 --> 00:42:27.516
You give me all the reasons and excuses why you can't be successful.

00:42:27.516 --> 00:42:29.382
I'm going to challenge you, hounds of business.

00:42:29.382 --> 00:42:31.423
Go look us up Carrier, pigeon, linkedin, youtube.

00:42:31.423 --> 00:42:33.847
Give us one reason.

00:42:33.847 --> 00:42:35.929
You can't Just try one.

00:42:35.929 --> 00:42:39.954
And if you can't do it alone, hey, welcome here.

00:42:39.954 --> 00:42:40.436
That's it.

00:42:42.041 --> 00:42:42.543
So that's always.

00:42:42.543 --> 00:42:44.572
My next question is it's your time to shine.

00:42:44.572 --> 00:42:50.472
I want you to be able to advertise yourself on how we get a hold of you, how we get a hold of the hounds, all that good stuff.

00:42:50.472 --> 00:42:53.101
I know you kind of chutzed on it, but let's get it official this time.

00:42:53.101 --> 00:42:54.742
Okay, ready set go.

00:42:56.043 --> 00:42:57.666
I stole your thunder man because I was on.

00:42:57.666 --> 00:42:58.947
I'm always hosting, like you are.

00:42:58.947 --> 00:43:00.188
It's hard to transition.

00:43:00.188 --> 00:43:01.289
You're a gracious host man.

00:43:01.289 --> 00:43:02.949
Yeah, find us on LinkedIn.

00:43:02.949 --> 00:43:04.251
That's where we hang out.

00:43:04.251 --> 00:43:05.913
So it's Mike Asherbranner.

00:43:06.092 --> 00:43:09.976
I know it's a lot of words, but you can also search Hounds of Business on YouTube.

00:43:09.976 --> 00:43:11.036
We have on LinkedIn.

00:43:11.036 --> 00:43:14.063
Our YouTube channel is bumping my website.

00:43:14.063 --> 00:43:16.650
You can find us, but I haven't touched it for a while.

00:43:16.650 --> 00:43:18.697
It's redneckfinancialcoachcom.

00:43:18.697 --> 00:43:21.246
All right, so we'll get on that soon enough.

00:43:22.041 --> 00:43:23.768
But, yeah, plug in, check us out.

00:43:23.768 --> 00:43:26.809
And there's no, we're a free community.

00:43:26.809 --> 00:43:30.985
We're going to have a paid tier membership optional soon, so don't let nothing stop you.

00:43:30.985 --> 00:43:34.242
Come in, check it out and, by the way, I don't have an ego here.

00:43:34.242 --> 00:43:37.244
It's it like a buffet.

00:43:37.244 --> 00:43:38.304
You can have all none.

00:43:38.304 --> 00:43:40.746
Some come back later, watch the game, have a drink.

00:43:40.786 --> 00:43:41.387
We don't care.

00:43:41.387 --> 00:43:43.208
We just want people to test drive us.

00:43:43.208 --> 00:43:45.911
Hopefully you buy clothes and try on clothes before you buy them.

00:43:45.911 --> 00:43:47.512
Hopefully you date before you get married.

00:43:47.512 --> 00:43:50.394
Same concept Test drive us out.

00:43:50.394 --> 00:43:51.056
I'll tell you this.

00:43:51.056 --> 00:43:54.159
If you don't like it or it's not a good fit, I'll walk you somewhere else.

00:43:54.159 --> 00:43:55.019
I'll take you somewhere else.

00:43:55.019 --> 00:43:59.606
That might be a good fit, because I just want to see better, more good people do better stuff.

00:43:59.606 --> 00:44:00.927
Stop being stuck.

00:44:00.927 --> 00:44:01.768
Don't look back and go.

00:44:01.768 --> 00:44:02.849
Oh, I wish I'd done that.

00:44:02.849 --> 00:44:03.951
Just do it now.

00:44:03.951 --> 00:44:07.335
I'd rather die fighting on my feet than grovel at my knees.

00:44:07.335 --> 00:44:09.063
So that's my calling card.

00:44:09.063 --> 00:44:18.670
Scoob, I appreciate the platform, appreciate you, the opportunity to be here, and I just hope one person was inspired by some craziness I said here today and that made it all worthwhile, brother.

00:44:19.391 --> 00:44:20.713
All right, awesome, michael.

00:44:20.713 --> 00:44:22.715
Thank you so much for being the undiscovered entrepreneur.

00:44:22.715 --> 00:44:23.922
Get across the start line.

00:44:23.922 --> 00:44:26.951
Thank you so much, and you have yourself a great day.

00:44:26.951 --> 00:44:28.666
Thank you All right, scoob believers.

00:44:28.666 --> 00:44:30.155
Make sure you stay tuned for the wrap up.

00:44:30.155 --> 00:44:30.880
All right, everybody.

00:44:30.880 --> 00:44:33.463
Thank you, bye-bye.

00:44:33.463 --> 00:44:36.608
All right, scoob believers.

00:44:36.708 --> 00:44:38.130
That was Mike man.

00:44:38.130 --> 00:44:41.014
That guy had a lot of energy and this is.

00:44:41.014 --> 00:44:46.586
This guy has to be the most authentic guy I've ever met in my lifetime.

00:44:46.586 --> 00:44:52.923
He just, ultimately, is himself, and you know it really.

00:44:52.923 --> 00:44:59.882
It really teaches me how to embrace my authentic self, and you should be able to embrace your authentic self too.

00:44:59.882 --> 00:45:04.793
I mean, put on your own camo hat and let the true personality shine.

00:45:05.699 --> 00:45:14.184
Your uniqueness is your superpower and it will attract the right people who resonate with you and your values and your mission.

00:45:14.184 --> 00:45:16.893
That's why you shouldn't be afraid to be yourself.

00:45:16.893 --> 00:45:21.967
You'll have some people, like Mike says, you'll have some people that laugh at you.

00:45:21.967 --> 00:45:39.521
You'll have some people that doubt you, but ultimately, at the end, the people that you attract, the people that want to hear from you, are the people that are going to follow you, and you'll see that more and more as time goes on in your entrepreneurial adventure and courage does definitely come before confidence.

00:45:39.521 --> 00:45:49.467
Take bold action even when you're uncertain, even when you're not sure, and remember that every failure is a stepping stone towards success.

00:45:49.467 --> 00:45:52.014
Let's not give failure a bad name.

00:45:52.014 --> 00:45:54.342
Failure is something we can all learn from.

00:45:54.342 --> 00:45:55.985
We talk about that all the time.

00:45:55.985 --> 00:46:07.001
In the hurdles of stop, your resilience and your willingness to keep pushing forward will set you apart in the entrepreneur world, and that is the truth.

00:46:07.001 --> 00:46:22.789
Look inside yourself and know that you the person that's on the other side of this camera or listening to this podcast right now will move forward as long as you keep your resilience and your willingness to push forward.

00:46:22.789 --> 00:46:32.885
Always keep that in mind and with that thought I'm going to say thank you so much for another episode of the Undiscovered Entrepreneur and I'll see you next week.

00:46:32.885 --> 00:46:36.324
Goodbye for now, and there you have it.

00:46:36.364 --> 00:46:41.565
Future entrepreneurs, we've taken another step towards our journey to get across that start line.

00:46:41.565 --> 00:46:47.409
Remember, every great business starts with a single idea and the courage to pursue it.

00:46:47.409 --> 00:46:54.969
You've already shown that courage by joining us here today as we wrap up this episode of the Undiscovered Entrepreneur.

00:46:54.969 --> 00:47:00.371
I want to remind you that the start line isn't as far away as you might think.

00:47:00.371 --> 00:47:07.429
With each bit of knowledge you gain, each fear you face, you're getting closer to launching your dream.

00:47:07.429 --> 00:47:15.528
Until our next episode, together, keep pushing, keep dreaming and, most importantly, keep taking those steps across the start line.

00:47:15.528 --> 00:47:18.983
They'll all add up to big strides in your entrepreneur adventure.

00:47:18.983 --> 00:47:19.967
This is, scoob, your guide across the start line.

00:47:19.967 --> 00:47:21.434
They'll all add up to big strides in your entrepreneur adventure.

00:47:21.434 --> 00:47:22.980
This is, scoob, your guide across the start line.

00:47:22.980 --> 00:47:25.364
Remember, your future is waiting.

00:47:25.364 --> 00:47:28.931
I can, I am, I will and I'm doing it today.
